Position/Title:  Currency Economist (London)

Responsibilities:

Provide written research on the financial markets, encompassing an economics based approach of analysing the economic trends in major economies.    A training programme is provided for new recruits to smooth the transition from academic to real world economics.  Client and media interaction are also involved in the position, as IDEAglobal is sought out for it’s views on the financial markets. 

Desired Qualifications:

• Msc Economics or Msc Economics/Finance or related subject
• Ability to interface easily with clients/media;
• Strong communication skills;

Position/Title: Senior Emerging Markets Economist, Asia (Singapore)

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will take over and contribute to the coverage of several economies in Asia, enjoying a high degree of individual responsibility while providing leadership and guidance to the small Asia research team, ensuring the provision of high-quality analysis/research on an ongoing basis. Client and media interaction are also involved, as IDEAglobal is sought out for its views on the financial markets.   

Required Qualifications:

• MSc in Economics, MSc in Economics/Finance or a related subject
• Around 8-10 years’ experience as a macro-economist, preferably covering economies in Asia
• Excellent communication abilities and, in particular, first-rate writing skills
• Good familiarity with global financial markets, asset classes and instruments
• Very strong inter-personal and team-working/leadership capabilities
